COVID 19 VACCINE MANDATE UPDATE JAN 13, 2022 The Supreme Court has upheld the CMS vaccine mandate, as stated in their opinion released shortly after noon today, January 13, 2022. As a result of this decision, CHC must enforce our policy to ensure all employees have received at least their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine no later than January 27, 2022 and are fully vaccinated no later than February 28, 2022, or have been granted a medical or religious exemption. Any employee who fails to comply with either of these deadlines will be suspended or terminated, respectively. Any employee not approved for a medical or religious exemption must provide CHC proof that the first dose of the Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, or Pfizer vaccine has been received no later than January 27th. Any employee who chooses not to get vaccinated or fails to provide the appropriate documentation will be suspended as of 5:00pm January 27, 2022. Please note that while the Supreme Court also offered an opinion on the OSHA vaccine mandate, effectively blocking it from going into effect, the CMS mandate was upheld in a separate opinion. As mentioned previously, CHC must comply with the CMS regulations since we are a licensed home health agency which means the ruling on the OSHA rule has no impact on our policy moving forward. CHC staff will be reaching out to all caregivers for whom we do not currently have proof of vaccination to inquire about your intentions moving forward.
